Your Child’s Journey to Lasting Confidence

Choosing which birthmark removal treatment is right for your child can be daunting, especially if you know so little about your little one’s condition and available treatment options.

We understand how challenging this decision can be. That’s why we’re committed to making your child’s treatment journey—from initial consultation to recovery—as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Meet Griffin, the patient shown below. He’s one of INI’s patients who was treated for a giant nevus on his right arm and hand.

The photos below document his journey from diagnosis to a year later. By starting early, we were able to reduce Griffin’s risk of melanoma.

Before Surgery: Initial Consultation

Here, you can see Griffin during his initial consultation. He was born with a giant nevus on his right arm and hand, which required a two-stage surgery to remove the nevus and place a temporary skin graft. During the consultation, we discussed a detailed surgical plan with his parents.

In this image, you can observe how the lesions develop over time, increasing in size and pigmentation as the patient grows.

One Week Later: Skin Graft Exchange

One week later, Griffin had a second surgery to exchange the temporary skin graft with a permanent skin graft from his abdomen and flank.

One Year Later: Scar Revision

A year later, we did a small touch-up surgery to revise some scarring.

“He was the kindest, most caring doctor. I am so glad he was my daughter’s plastic surgeon. He does his best to take excellent care of your child & do as little surgery as possible and yet still do so much to save your kiddo & fix them up.”
